Ugandan singer Weasel Manizo has found himself in a heated clash with Juliet Zawedde, the woman who facilitated his trip to the United States as Jose Chameleone’s caretaker during his hospitalization.
In audio clips circulating on social media, Weasel, sounding intoxicated, is heard pleading with Zawedde to fund his ticket back to Uganda, citing disrespect and mistreatment at her house.
“I love you so much, Mama Julie… but they are going to steal my wife from me while I’m here. You keep sending people to tell me you don’t want me in your house, yet I left mine back home. I love you, but do not disrespect me. Take me back home; I will not call you ever again,” Weasel laments in the leaked recording.
Reports suggest that the fallout stems from a party Weasel allegedly hosted at Zawedde’s home without her consent, which angered her. The singer had initially traveled to the US to care for his brother Chameleone, who was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
During his stay, Weasel also took the opportunity to collaborate with Tanzanian singer Bushoke, filming a music video in the US.
However, in the leaked call, Weasel complains that while Zawedde allegedly contributed $6,000 towards Bushoke’s wardrobe for the video shoot, she did not give him any financial support.
In a desperate plea, Weasel repeatedly refers to Zawedde as “their wife” and insists he never intended to stay in the US, urging her to send him back home so he can focus on his own hustle and family.
