The Vice President of Uganda, Her Excellency Retired Major Jessica Alupo, arrived at the Oliver Reginald Tambo School of Leadership and Pan African Excellence in Kaweweta.
Her mission: to oversee the graduation of 170 National Patriotism Coordinators, representing districts and schools nationwide.
Welcomed by the Commissioner for the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps, Ms. Hellen Seku, and escorted by the School’s Commandant, Col. Justus Rukundo, Vice President Alupo began her visit with a tour of the School’s facilities.
Col. Rukundo shared the School’s rich history, emphasizing its role in training leaders for the Defence Forces and its significance as a training ground for liberation forces like the NRA and ANC. He highlighted the importance of ideological preparation in understanding global dynamics and managing resources effectively.
The Vice President lauded the School’s efforts in national security and ideological training, expressing pride in the UPDF and acknowledging Commissioner Seku’s dedication. She commended the decision to host the retreat at Oliver Tambo School, emphasizing its importance in fostering collaboration and reinforcing the mission of patriotism.
Commissioner Seku highlighted the significance of the retreat, providing an opportunity for coordinators to bond and reflect on their mission. She praised their past contributions, particularly during elections, and underscored the importance of their role in promoting patriotism.
Vice President Alupo expressed gratitude for the School’s work and Commissioner Seku’s leadership, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and adaptability in advancing national security and ideological training.
