USA rapper Jay-Z and music Maogul Sean “Diddy Comb have been accused in lawsuit of drugging and raping a 13 year old girl at a New York party in 2000. The accuser, identified as “Jane Doe” alleges the incident took place at the house party following the MTV video Music Awards ( VMAa)
The lawsuit originally filed in October and amended on Sunday to name Jay-Z ( real name Shawn Carter) as a defendant, was brought under NewYork’s Victims of Gender – Motivated Violence protection Act by Texas – based lawyer Tony buzbee. The accuser claims she was offered a drink at the party that left her feeling disoriented. Combs assaulted her in a room while a female celebrity refferred to as “celebrity B” looked in.
In a statement Jay-Z strongly denied the allegations, dismissing them as a “blackmail attempt “ he accused Mr. Buber of leveraging public scrutiny to coerce a settlement, declaring, “ it made me want to expose you for fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. I will not give you ONE RED PENNY “
Mr. Combs who is currently in jail awaiting trial on separate sex- Trafficking and assault charges, also denied the accusations through his legal team. His lawyers described the lawsuit as a shameless publicity stunt aimed at extracting payments from high – profile individuals. They maintain that the judicial process will prove his innocence.
The accuser claims the traumatic experience has left her with ongoing post – traumatic stress disorder and depression. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages, adding to the 30 other legal actions Mr. Comb is currently. Both Jay-z and Mr Combs have called the allegations baseless and vowed to clear their names in court.
In a personal statement, Jax-Z expressed his concern over his family, especially his children, saying:” My wife and I will have to sit our children down and explain the cruelty and greed of people “ The allegations come amid a wave of legal challenges against high profile figures in the music industry drawing significant public and media attention.
