Prime Minister Nabbanja Champions Youth Empowerment Through Skill Development

Prime Minister of Uganda Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah celebrated a significant milestone in youth empowerment on Sunday,

She presided over the graduation ceremony of 450 young individuals trained in various practical courses. The event, held at the Bunyoro Zonal Industrial Hub in Masindi, marked a pivotal moment in the government’s efforts to equip the youth of Bunyoro Sub-region with valuable skills.

In her address, Prime Minister Nabbanja reiterated the importance of skill development in Uganda’s national development agenda. She emphasized that empowering Ugandan youth not only reduces unemployment but also propels economic growth.

The Prime Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to establishing industrial training institutes and innovation hubs, underscoring their role in achieving developmental objectives.

“Skills such as carpentry, plumbing, agriculture, and information technology are not merely pathways to employment; they are the very foundation of our economy. These are the skills that drive nations forward,” Nabbanja stated.

The Prime Minister encouraged other young people to embrace similar initiatives aimed at skill enhancement. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Jane Barekye, the State House Comptroller, Members of Parliament, Resident District Commissioners, and Chairpersons of Local Councils.
