In an unprecedented move, Iran carried out an attack on Israeli soil after targeting its consulate in Damascus, Syria. The attack, which took place on Sunday night, involved the use of over 300 drones and missiles.

Iran claimed that the operation yielded more success than initially anticipated. Hossain Salami, the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), confirmed the success during an announcement on state media.

“Information is still being gathered, but our preliminary assessment suggests that the operation was more successful than we expected,” Salami stated.

He went on to say, “The impact of this attack is currently being felt by the residents of the occupied territories, the Zionist officials and rulers, and the U.S. military, which supports Israel.”

Salami also highlighted that the United States and France had been providing air defense for Israel across regions of Iraq, Jordan, and parts of Syria. Despite this, a significant number of drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles managed to penetrate Israel’s defensive capabilities.

“We could have launched a larger attack, but we chose to keep it limited,” Salami concluded.
