Dr. Kenneth Omona Olusegun, the former Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to the president has taken over office at the office of the Prime Minister (OPM).
Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny, the outgoing minister of state in charge of Northern Uganda handed over office to Dr. Omona in the presence of several ministers and technical staff from OPM.
The function took place at OPM during the senior top management meeting chaired by the Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah, the prime minister of Uganda. While handing over office Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny outlined several pending programs to be executed by the incoming minister.
Key among the pending issues is the planned eviction of the Balaalo from Northern Uganda which was hampered by the outbreak of Foot and mouth Disease.
Dr. Kenneth Omona promised to start from where his predecessor was in serving the county with the hope of transforming the country.
In a related development, Agnes Nandutu has handed over office as state minister for Karamoja to her successor Florence Nambozo, the Sironko woman Member of Parliament.
Nandutu clad in a Karimajong attire, looked happy and also decorated her successor with the Karamojong attire as she welcomed her to the docket. Florence Nambozo after assuming office asked for God’s guidance while executing the new assignments.
Today, I have handed over the office of Northern Uganda Rehabilitation to Hon. Dr. Kenneth Omona. I will take my new appointment as a Senior Presidential Advisor as soon as possible. It has been very exciting and challenging too, working with institutions, leaders, and people of Northern Uganda,” said Kwiyucwiny
”I know that H.E, the President, the visionary fountain of honor, is well grounded in socio-economic and political knowledge of this country. I presume it is just a good gesture and recognition for such a leader to pick on me, among many leaders, to become a Senior Presidential Advisor. I now pray for wisdom to be able to sit at the round table with H.E., the President, and do a good job,” Kwiyucwiny added
The Prime Minister thanked the outgoing ministers for their dedicated service and promised to cooperate with the incoming in serving the country.
