UN was celebrating it’s 77year since it’s birth on 25th October, 1962. As a country we have since worked in partnership with the UN in different ways to support peace, development and humanitarian action in both our own country and other countries, she said.
In 2015 the UN General assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda under Uganda’s presidency. The Sustainable Development Goals are aimed at transforming our world and ending poverty everywhere and for everyone. Uganda had ensured alignment of the SDGs to our National vision 2040 and our other plans and strategies. The third National development plan is over 90% aligned to the global goals and the new Parish Development Model is all about ensuring that no one is left behind, especially those most vulnerable and hardest to reach.
