Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred this morning at the offices of Ultimate Security Company in Mbuya, Bugolobi Parish, Nakawa Division.

The incident, which happened around 9:00 AM, left three people dead, including the suspected shooter.

According to preliminary reports, the shooting followed a disagreement between a security guard, Mwawa Richard, and his supervisors. Mwawa had reportedly been instructed to hand over his firearm and vacate the premises. Moments later, he allegedly returned, armed, and shot Noella Zella, the company’s Assistant Human Resource Officer, and Bwampata Swalez, the Armory Officer.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said police responded quickly after receiving information about the shooting. Officers engaged the suspect and fatally shot him during the operation to stop the threat.

All three bodies have been taken to City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem. The firearm used in the shooting was recovered and will undergo forensic analysis.

Owoyesigyire urged the public to remain calm and allow police to complete investigations into the matter. He noted that further details will be shared as inquiries progress.

The incident has left residents in the area shocked, as investigations continue into the circumstances and motive behind the shooting.
