Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, called on the government to regulate TikTok, citing concerns over its misuse.

Mufti Mubaje warned that the platform is fueling idleness and promoting harmful content, drawing parallels to the government’s past action against Facebook. “Authorities must act against those misusing TikTok, just as they did with Facebook, before it’s too late,” he stated.

During his sermon, he commended Muslims for their dedication to fasting, praying that Allah rewards them with joy and blessings. He also used the occasion to denounce the ongoing mass killings in Gaza, urging world leaders to pursue peaceful dialogue.

Addressing Ugandan Muslims, Mubaje emphasized the importance of unity within the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC). He cautioned against internal divisions, reminding believers that the council belongs to all and should be strengthened through reconciliation and collective support.

As celebrations continued, the Mufti’s call for social media regulation and global peace echoed beyond the walls of the mosque, sparking discussions on morality, governance, and the role of faith in addressing contemporary challenges.
