The Nyendo Mukungwe legislator, Hon Mathias Mpuuga, has maintained his position that he is a founding member of the party and therefore will not be forced out or pressured to step down as Commissioner of Parliament.
Addressing the media in a press conference at Parliament on Tuesday, Mpuuga delivered a direct rebuke to Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and the entire NUP leadership, accusing them of being “clueless” and out of touch with political realities happening in the country.
Mpuuga’s alleged transgression is the shs 500 million which exhibitors exposed on social media, that he allegedly sought as a reward for being Leader of opposition. The Party President and his associates referred to him as corrupt and asked him to step down, a call he defied.
”I have not met president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu the recent past. I only watch him on funerals, press conferences and media stations trying to tell the public that am a corrupt leader, NUP is a young part that is being toxified with blackmail, nepotism and disrespect for leaders. I will wage a war on these impurities,” said mpuuga.
The former Leader of Opposition also denied attending a meeting chaired by NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi, in which he allegedly confessed to wrongdoing. He further dismissed the corruption allegations, vowing to continue with the struggle.
